On Thursday, October 4, the third year of the largest independent conference on e-mail marketing in the Czech Republic - Emailing2020 - took place in the City Conference Center in Prague. The conference was organized by Acomware, which invited the world's leading e-mail marketing experts to Prague.
Jason Rodriguez from Litmus Software Inc., Tim Watson from Zettasphere and Rémi Parmentier from the French development studio Tilt Studio spoke at the conference. The speakers mainly talked about the future of the field and the effects of artificial intelligence. According to Jenny Tiffany of the British company Let'sTalk Strategy, marketers have nothing to worry about using advanced technology. Their purpose remains to make people's work easier, not to take it away. She also saw the benefit of artificial intelligence in significantly greater time efficiency for creating e-mail campaigns.
According to Derick Wiesner, who works for IBM, the biggest challenge for marketers remains in obtaining useful data about customers. Existing research warns against insufficient work with information, where most remains hidden in unstructured data that few can properly interpret. He saw the solution again in the use of a virtual assistant called Watson, which can handle this task in a minimum of time.
Parallel to the lecture program, workshops also took place during the conference. Here, participants could deepen their knowledge about artificial intelligence and its use in email marketing. In the future, marketing specialists can feel its benefit mainly in the possibilities of personalizing messages. As a result, customers will be able to receive very individualized messages with minimal effort from the sender.
